AS and A Levels
Noor Al Khaleej International School offers the Cambridge curriculum focusing on providing excellence in quality education for our Cambridge Advanced Level students.
The following subjects are offered in AS Level/A level:
Admission criteria: āCā grade and above in IGCSE Extended paper
Examination Type: External-University of Cambridge
Series: May/June and October/November (retake examination)
The AS Level is a qualification in its own right, and the AS Level together with the A Level forms the complete A Level qualification. Science and the Commerce subjects are offered in AS and A Level of which the students can take any three subjects to complete the course. The curriculum sets a global standard for education and is recognised by universities and employers worldwide which is a path-finder for our students in leading universities every year.
Teachers in this phase act as facilitators. They encourage students to be self-motivated and to take responsibility for their own learning through projects and self-study assignments. Test timetables and project deadlines issued at the beginning of each Term promote efficient organisational and time management skills. Rather than supplying ready-made solutions, the teachers assist the students in developing their ability to understand concepts, investigate resources, access and distil pertinent information and draw their own conclusions.
At this senior stage students are encouraged to be involved with our Student Leadership programs, in particular, the Mock United Nations, (MUN) where important decision-making skills as well as social and leadership skills are developed. Moreover, the syllabuses and our programs, develop a deep understanding of subjects and independent thinking skills leading the students into the path of excellence.
In short, when they graduate from our institution, they are groomed to be the pride of the State of Qatar.
